Patrick–
you’re the first
and the last
roommate I had
in my life
It took our past lives
That day
through the window
you’d tossed a message
before we met
Later you confessed
you’d known me
in your dream
long before
I entered
your life
Then the door opened
The journey we shared
was too short
at least
in this life
But I know
you’re here
at my shoulder
My voyage
continues to
share the world
Until I meet you
again
at the door
Kyomi, I think of Patrick often and I don’t see that diminishing even as the years pass. He was a remarkable human being in so many ways going beyond his obvious scientific brilliance. His deep sensitive caring for all persons regardless of their place in society, their economic status, their country of origin or scientific accomplishments is a guiding star for those of us that want to see the world evolve into a fairer place for all. I look forward to reading your book once it becomes available this fall.
Thank you Dave for your heartfelt words. Yes. Patrick was someone, who sees a light in anyone and helps it stay within. I appreciate your love for him and the world we all feel appreciated. Thank you.
