given by Mother Queen

Papa
brilliant yet confused

a spider
tried his best
in weaving
the beautiful
silky house

mistakes transpire

Too guileless
to catch
spindle
and wither
a ladybug

in the end
himself burnt
in the fire

***

beyond
time and space

room
away from
the tragedies
transform

something into life

myriad
beads of moisture
shine through the light
on the once-abandoned

silky web

With immense gratitude and love, this poem was created to celebrate my father, Papa, and life. Before his passing at the end of 1997, he’d given me an opportunity to return and re-build my life. I’m grateful to feel he’s still lived in my life.
