a child
dwelling in me

her favorite thing
every summer
was floating
alone
in the ocean

drifting afar
from what’s happening
in her life

trembling knees
frightened heart
all washed away

the warm water

voices of people
sounded away

breathing…
inhaling and exhaling

the constant breath

made the world

loneliness
she felt
yet enveloped
in the warmth of
love and light
